38 Weeks

How far along? 38 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: up 30lbs
Maternity clothes? Oh yeah
Stretch marks? No new ones
Sleep: Alright but I'm still having trouble turning my brain off and I wake up sore every morning from having to sleep in odd positions
Best moment this week: Labor day weekend! After working all week I went crazy having a whole 3 days at home to get all of my nesting projects done (although I'm sure I'll find news ones for next weekend). I washed windows, cleaned the house spotless, hung nursery decor, put some meals in the freezer, and worked on a baby blanket
Miss anything? Being comfortable, its getting pretty tough to find a comfortable position to relax in
Movement? Yep, he's still stretching and squirming around in there
Food cravings: Still fruit and sweets. I have fruit with every single meal and as snacks. Strawberries and grapes are my favorites this week
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope
Gender? Boy
Labor signs?
Symptoms: Same group- minor contractions, rib pain, leg cramps, nesting (big time!)
Belly button in or out? It can almost be considered an outie
Wedding ring on or off? Off
Happy or moody most of the time? Happy! Except when I have a project that I can't do myself (like hanging shelves) and I can't get anyone to help me right at the exact moment
Looking forward to? Logan's arrival! I can't believe it's finally September! We could be meeting him any day now! I went to the doctor and I'm dilated to a 4. Right after that appointment I started having contractions, they were coming 3-5 minutes apart for a few hours before we finally decided to go to the hospital. Unfortunately they weren't strong enough to make me progress and I didn't want the doctor to break my water or do any form of inducing yet so we went home to wait it out. 4 days later and still waiting, hopefully it will be soon!

Movement? Still feeling lots of it
Food cravings: Sweets and fruit, as always

Nursery Update

Ok so I know I promised to post nursery pictures awhile ago but I'm finally getting around to it. In order for you to get the full idea of our experience I wanted to post a before picture and it took me awhile to hunt one down. So here is what the nursery looked like the day we toured the house and decided to rent it.

I'm not sure the picture does it justice but lets just say that it was pretty darn awful. The grey made the room feel really dark and closed. The trim (which I like to call "baby poop brown") majorly clashed with the grey and the lovely fake foliage and two-toned curtains left behind by the previous tenants certainly didn't help things. For awhile this room was simply storage and the door stayed closed all the time because it was depressing to look at. Then finally, the weekend after we found out that we were having a boy my mother-in-law helped me paint.

We went with a bright pastel green and a dark brown for the trim. I was a little nervous about how bright the color turned out but Andrew really likes it and I was promised that with some neutral furniture and decor on the walls it would be toned down. (And don't worry, I only helped paint a little bit and we had 2 fans going plus doors and windows open. I also had a mask to wear and got kicked out if the fumes built up even a little bit)

Then again, the room sat empty for awhile while I tried to decided on furniture. It was no easy task, just ask Andrew. I bought a crib at one point only to get it home and out of the box and decide it was really a cherry wood finish and not an espresso finish like I wanted. This resulted in about an hour of tears and a trek back to the store to return it and wait while the correct crib was shipped to the store. But finally the room actually started to take shape, thanks in huge part to my Montana baby shower

This is the first picture of the room after we started buying things and right after my baby shower

Soon a rocking chair and end table and lamp will go in the corner where the car seat is. We just haven't found the perfect chair yet!

Well thats as far as we've gotten. We're headed to the city this coming weekend to get a dresser and a rocking chair. We've also slowly been collecting decor for the walls and are just looking for a couple more pieces before we put it all together. It's definitely close, I just can't wait for the whole room to be done!

35 Weeks

How far along? 35 weeks
Total weight gain: up 28lbs
Maternity clothes? Yep
Stretch marks? No new ones
Sleep: Depends on the day, I'm definitely very tired again, like I was first trimester. And I'm not enjoying it because I constantly feel like I need to nap but I'm also nesting so all I can see is all the things around the house that need to be done
Best moment this week: Shopping for a dresser and rocking chair with Andrew. We still haven't found the perfect ones (planning a trip to Oklahoma City next weekend to shop) but I love planning the nursery together :)
Miss anything? sitting and sleeping normally and being able to do my job easily. Setting up a preschool classroom when you can barely reach your toes is not an easy task and I doubt it will get any easier when the students start coming on Monday!
Movement? Still feeling alot. He is getting big in there! I feel kicks and punches in every part of my belly without him having to hardly move. I'm thinking he's going to have some long legs and arms
Food cravings: Sweets and fruit. I ate half a cantalope every day this week!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope
Gender? Boy
Labor signs? Nope....can't believe in a few weeks I'll be saying yes to this question!
Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, rib pain, leg cramps
Belly button in or out? half and half
Wedding ring on or off? Depends on the day. It drives me crazy not to wear it but it has gotten stuck on my finger a couple of times so I may have to take it off for good soon
Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!
Looking forward to: His arrival!!! I can't believe its only 35 days away!

34 Weeks

How far along? 34 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: up 27.5lbs at my 34 week appointment
Maternity clothes? yep
Stretch marks? a few, none on my tummy yet though (knock on wood!)
Sleep: Not so great.I have a really tough time finding a comfortable position these days
Best moment this week: Going to my 34 week check up and hearing that everything is going well and that next visit I get to start coming weekly and they will start checking me for signs of dilation and effacement! I can't believe how close we're getting. I'm so excited to meet my little boy!
Miss anything? Being able to sleep comfortably
Movement? Yep :) I love feeling him move around, especially when he presses his feet out to where I can feel them. I also love watching Andrew feel him move each night. He's so excited and seeing that and thinking about how great of a dad he's going to be melts my heart
Food cravings: Fruit and sweets as always. Also honey nut cheerios, which has been pretty constant throughout my pregnancy. Logan's either going to love or hate them later in life :)
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing in particular. I have had a couple of unexplained queasy moments, but nothing too bad
Gender? Boy
Labor signs? Nope
Symptoms: Rib pain, Braxton Hicks, mild headaches, leg cramps, general feelings of being uncomfortable
Belly button in or out? Starting to poke out...it was hanging on so well!
Wedding ring on or off? On, most of the time. I may have to take it off soon. I've had a couple of moments where I couldn't get it off
Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!
Looking forward to: Going to the city next weekend to buy everything to finish off the nursery!

33 Weeks

How far along? 33 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: up about 25lbs
Maternity clothes? Yep
Stretch marks? No new ones
Sleep: Still depends on the day, I am back to taking a nap almost every day like I did during my first trimester
Best moment this week: Watching Andrew's face when he felt Logan push his foot directly into Andrew's hand. I sometimes take these movements for granted and assume Andrew has felt everything I have. It was so fun to watch the excitement and shock on Andrew's face.
Miss anything? Being able to move around easy and of course sleeping on my back
Movement? Still feeling all of those flailing limbs and kicks. He loves to stick his foot out above my belly button and then drag it over to the side of my belly. It's kind of crazy to watch
Food cravings: Still chocolate and fruit. Ate over half a bag of grapes in one sitting the other day
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope
Gender? Boy
Labor signs? Nope
Symptoms: Same old group: braxton hicks, rib pain, tired, nesting...
Belly button in or out? Still barely in
Wedding ring on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Happy mixed with anxious moods about getting everything ready
Looking forward to: My 34 week appointment. I love getting to go every 2 weeks now and hear that everything is going well. I was measuring 34 weeks at my 32 week appointment, so anxious to see if I'm still ahead or back on track
